Peter Dench achieved a World Press Photo Award in the People in the News Stories category and participated in the World Press Joop Masterclass. Solo exhibitions include 'LoveUK' in Cardiff, UK and 'England Uncensored' at the 2011 Visa pour l'Image fesitval of photojournaliam in France and the Periscopio festival, Spain. In 2010, Peter was placed 2nd in Advertising at the Sony World Photography Awards. His work is honest and real, no fancy post production but warts and all photography of real people in real situations. Peter's talk showed some strong and graphic images on a recent project of Brits abroad, the stories behind each photo was riveting and afterwards Peter took questions before judging the entries for the month.
The great thing with Peter is his brutal honesty about the industry and how it is to work as a full time professional, in Peter's case across fifty five countries! Their was also time for some interviews with members Steve Baker and Paul Spree about the club as Denchy's new project is about societies around the UK showing the diversity of people that attend. Also Peter is working on another new project titled "The Future of Britain" where he is inviting people to tweet @peterdench so he can take photographs in your area.
