FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY CANTERBURY KENT
19/09/2013
The first set of food photography would be covering some classic dishes and with Autumn in mind Sophie was preparing today chicken, curry and salmon dishes along with some home made desserts. Each dish would be photographed once Sophie had prepared them, using the natural light that was coming through the large french doors I used a Lastolite reflector to lift any shadows and to just lighten the food, not too much that it blew out any of the highlights, especially important with the fish and rice dishes.
I used two cameras, one with the ever faithful 24-70mm and the other with the 100mm 2.8 macro lens, attached to the crop sensor of the 1D MK4 this gave an equivalent 130mm focal range, great for close up photographs of the food and some nice detail images which will be good in the introduction pages of the recipe book.
