BEN & KIM'S WEDDING AT MOUNT EPHRAIM, KENT
23/07/2011
I arrived at Kim's parents house at mid day where KIm and the bridesmaids were getting ready, their was a relaxed atmosphere in the house and with the make up artist finishing off some final touches I started to take some photos of the dress, flowers and shoes as well as some candids of the wedding party getting ready. After an hour I left to meet up with Clare at the venue, with a 100 guests it gives a greater freedom for two photographers to cover all of the main moments plus the incidental ones as well which not everybody gets to see on the day. I had the two 1D's with the 70-200 and 24-70 attached which are the ideal combination for a wedding, with apertures of 2.8 on both as well their is a great flexibility in what you are able to capture.
The service was over just after 3pm and with an hour and a half their was plenty of time to cover the formal and informal photos before the guests sat down for the wedding breakfast. We finished off with some relaxed photos of Kim and Ben by the lake, knowing that they were in to fishing it seemed an ideal opportunity to grab a photo with two local fishermen who were nearby as well as using the other areas around the lake to get some beautiful portraits of the couple. With the speeches covered I then left Clare to cover the first dance whilst I went to cover my friends Charlotte and Andrew's party at the Birley Pavilion in Canterbury, finished just after 9pm.
