MONIN IMBIBE ADVERTISEMENT MANCHESTER
21/07/2011
As their was a variety of portable lighting to be used today and some carrying I enlisted my good friend Alex to assist, we left Canterbury at 6am and arrived just after 11.30am in the town centre. The Sandinista bar and restaurant has a cuban feel to it and the downstairs bar was an ideal location for the photography to take place. The bar had wooden panelling behind Dave the cocktail waiter which meant that it would soak the lighting up without any reflections which was a challenge in London due to the mirrors behind the bar. Same lighting set up as before, two off camera speed lights and the LED video light to supply lighting for the Monin products. The flash left of camera provided the lighting for the bar man and the second camera right provided fill in on Dave's right side as well as some spill lighting for the background. Once we had done some test shots with Al we were ready to go with a variety of portraits of Dave with a couple of his cocktail creations. After reviewing and backing up the images we took a short drive over to the Lowry Centre for lunch and a look at the famous artists art, a bonus was an exhibition of Andy Warhol's divas, these included iconic images of Blondie, Madonna and Marlyn Monroe. We left Manchester at 5pm and arrived in to Canterbury just after 10pm, the sounds of Hendrix and Neil Young keeping us awake!
