MILLERS ARMS PUB AND RESTAURANT PHOTOGRAPHY KENT

07/05/2011
The Miller's Arms in Canterbury, highly recommended
The Miller's Arms is very deceptive from the outside as it looks quite narrow but when you get inside it is very airy and spacious, their are some nice touches inside with suitcases, logs and old distressed signs to give a vintage feel to the atmosphere in the pub. The restaurant is more subdued in terms of lighting giving a warmer and romantic feel to the surroundings. I started to cover the wider interior photographs first, just before the bar area started to fill up, tripod, low ISO and due to the lighting in the bar area a shutter of around 1-2 seconds with F16 gave a good combination of detail and natural lighting, over exposed by 0.33 just to lift any shadows slightly. With trade picking up just after mid day I managed to cover a selection of age ranges to cover the social aspect of the photos. With the sun in full glow it was off to the next pub, The Grove Ferry just outside of Canterbury...
