DIGITAL SLR PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP KENT

24/04/2011
Beginners photography course in Canterbury, Kent
The beginners photography courses are always great fun to run as generally everybody at the beginning is only just skimming the surface of the cameras controls, I run through the very basics from handling, looking after the camera right through to depth of field, white balance control and controlling all of the cameras exposure settings. We had two practical sessions during the day, one with model Elika and the second where we covered the subjects that some of the attendees were having trouble with, as mentioned before, property and still life subjects which everybody had an attempt at. It's always good to see new cameras up close and Sue's Sony NEX is a great compromise between an SLR and compact camera, but with SLR results. The body and lens combination is compact and with its large LCD screen and intuitive controls it really is a camera I could recommend if you want to travel light, or even have as a compact camera if your a pro.

The day drew to a close just after 5pm where we closed with the all important backing up images and various types of storage. If you would like to see future courses that I am running please look at the training section on the website. The next beginners digital photography course will be held in Canterbury, Kent on Sunday 21st August, please contact me if you are interested in attending or would like to purchase a gift voucher for this or any other courses.

Many thanks. The course was excellent. I thought there was a nice atmosphere and the setting was lovely. The course exceeded my expectations. I was frightened to alter the settings on the camera and now feel I can experiment without fear. I also now have a better grasp of how light is dealt with by the camera and how I can set up a shot. I looked at the images I took previously of my bears and compared them with photos taken yesterday and can see appreciable improvements…so many thanks, once again". Sue Jennings
