RANGE ROVER PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT

16/03/2011
Range Rover Autobiography car photography shoot
This week has been a mix of sun and mist, today it was pretty flat in terms of lighting and with the area I had to work in I was mindful of using a little post production to give the photos a moodier edge to them. A couple of off camera flash guns came in handy, great for picking out the details of the chrome on the car. Settings were around 1/60 second at F stops between 8-16 for the vehicle shots and then some wide open apertures for the interior and close up photos, generally around 2.8-4. Camera 1D MK IV with the 24-70mm lens attached, flash guns were on 1/2 power and moved further away to reduce the light being emitted from them, sometimes trial and error as you don't want to catch too many reflections from the flash in the bodywork of the cars. The post production filters were done with the excellent Photo Tools Professional software which is a convenient plug in to Photoshop.
