DRUMCHASERS PHOTOGRAPHY
14/03/2011
The set up for Drumchasers in terms of lighting and stage is superb, a great layout and atmospheric lighting. Being at the rehearsal gave me access to the whole stage area and allowed me to move in to areas which would not have been possible during a show. As the lighting was vivid and bright for most of the performance I was having to underexpose a lot of the time, this gave me some fast shutter speeds and sometimes I switched in to manual mode as I wanted some slower shutter speeds to show some movement during the performances. I enjoyed the show a great deal and the musicianship and performances of the percussionists was amazing to see, and hear! The 20 date UK Spring Tour premiers in Blackpool on March 16th 2011. The show has no dialogue, the percussion does the talking and with an exciting, strong, clear narrative, it is accessible to all.
DrumChasers tells the story of Mr Bennett, a caretaker in an old concert hall who cares for the instruments stored within its walls. However, one night, something happens, something loud and something otherworldly and he is transported to the land of the DrumChasers, a land of percussion where forbidden love struggles to be heard against the noise of rival gangs. It is left to Mr Bennett to settle this ancient dispute and bring peace and finally, quiet.

"Why this show has not become as big a hit as rival Stomp, I can’t understand." Kentish Gazette
"A stunning musical experience…" Rhythm Magazine
"…magnificent to watch. With epic beats and a stormy score, the show borders apocalyptic." At The Theatre
