ELECTRIC RIVER BAND PORTRAITS

The band have six members now, Sponge (vocals & bass), Chris, Will (guitars & vocals), Alex (drums), CJ (keyboards) & Tom who seems to cover a mix of everything. The settings for the camera were uniform for most of the images, all that altered was the distance of the speedlight, depending on whether I needed more or less light. The great thing about using just one light was the shadows that cast on the guys faces, camera settings 1/60 sec @ F11 ISO 125 with the flash on a 1/4 power. I have just added a bit of contrast on the images with the addition of the High Pass filter in CS4. Please see the Blog archive for details on how to use this effect. After a couple of hours we were wrapped up, nice simple shoot but with some gritty portraits courtesy of just an off camera flashgun.
