ST EDMUND'S SCHOOL CANTERBURY ASTRO PITCH

The pupils will be able to use the all-weather, flood-lit playing surface all year round. This new facility will be used by all ages for a wide range of competitive and recreational sports including hockey, football, tennis, cricket and netball. The unveiling of the plaque for the pitch was done under cover in the schools hall before all of the invited guests took a short walk to the pitch, under the cover of St Edmund branded umbrellas.
I covered a mix of the sports activities on the astro pitch, the torrential rain meant that the weather sealing of the 1D4 and 70-200mm L series lens was put to the test! The weather did at least show that the pitch could be used in the most extreme weather situations! The events ended with a champagne reception in a marque on the terrace of the school with a jazz band made up of the schools music teachers.
