WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT SOLTON MANOR IN DEAL KENT

Kerry and Paul's wedding at Solton Manor in Kent
After covering the preparation photos at Kerry's parents home I then set off to the venue to meet Clare and start to cover the guests arrival along with the photos of the groom , best man and ushers. I had covered Kerry's brothers wedding two years ago so knew a few of the family and friends that were attending the day, it was a relaxed atmosphere and with the ceremony being outside provided a natural setting. I used the flexible 70-200mm lens whilst Clare covered the wider photos taking in the guests and backdrops. Once the ceremony was over the heavens opened, with a surprise arrival of Kerry's horses we just had enough time to cover some impromptu photos of the couple alongside the animals. The rain started to get heavier so everyone headed to the safe haven of the marquee, this allowed us to capture some candid images and some close up table shots which were decorated in an Arsenal football club theme.

With a break in the weather and some cover by a large selection of trees we captured the formal group photos before taking some informal wedding portraits of Kerry and Paul, the variety of backdrops at Solton Manor gave us a nice variety of photos and with the sun starting to seep through the sombre clouds it gave us a chance to take the larger group photographs and confetti photo. Once the dinner and speeches were over we took one last opportunity to capture the now very relaxed couple around the house and grounds, the light was now soft with a golden cast to it, great for skin tones. The first dance finished just after 8.30pm and the days photography had come to an end, the weather caused some problems but that's the advantage when you cover commercial photography day in day out, always thinking about the time to get the important shots, whatever the weather!
