Photography jewelry at Fitzgerald's in Canterbury
As the images are going to be used for website use it seemed ideal to use the perfectly lit display cabinets for the jewelry, only addition lighting wise was the trusty LED light which acted as a very subtle fill in. I used the reflective glass to good effect on some of the smaller items and also the underside of a CD which reflected light from underneath the items to lose some of the shadows which some of the items were creating.
Kit wise the 100mm 2.8 macro covered all of the product photography, tripod was used for all photos as some of the images needed to be overexposed to light them, most settings seemed to be around 1/100th second @ 5.6, which on the macro lens just gives enough depth of field to create a sharp image. I finished off the session with some interior photographs for the website and also future publicity. Fitzgerald jeweler's is based in Burgate Canterbury jsut a few doors up from Canterbury Cathedral and is the stockist in the area for Pandora jewelry.
