ST PANCRAS HOTEL PHOTOGRAPHY LONDON
09/03/2011
The photography we were covering today was for Huet who Martin covers the graphic and web design for, they produce high quality interior doors for a variety of clients throughout the world. The images will also be used by the contractors and Marriot Hotels. Our main aim was to get some room photographs which were to have the doors in the background, setting the scene and showing the surroundings that they were in, we also covered a few close up photographs of the doors. It was nice that the hotel was not officially opened as we had access to most areas including the stunning part of the original hotel that opened way back in 1873, the interors, stonework, carpets, ceilings were a work of art and amazing to photograph. Literally all of the interior photographs were tripod based, 1D MKIV with the 17-40mm lens to give a nice wide view of the interiors. We then covered some architectural photographs of the hotel, again wide views to get in as much of the gothic style of the hotel in as possible.
After we had covered the shoot we had a well deserved lunch in St Pancras station, uploaded the images to Martin's Mac and just made sure that we had covered the requirements for the client. The images will be used for Huet's website and brochures, really handy having Martin along as he knows how the photographs will fit in to his designs, job done and back to Canterbury, very handy having the station next door to the hotel as I usually end up walking a few miles with my kit.
