365 A DAY IN THE LIFE OF CANTERBURY PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT

29/01/2011
Photographs of Canterbury on the 29th January
The brief is to submit two images per day for the project just giving a snapshot of what is happening in Canterbury on the day. I saw Anthony from the camera club that I run with his camera and he showed me a couple of photos that he had taken of a street artist who was drawing characters with pastels towards the top of the High Street. I had seen Anthony's images and decided to take a slightly different angle, with the camera pre focused in manual and with an aperture of F4.5 I laid the camera on the floor to give a more dynamic angle, the next image was of some soldiers doing a collection with the help of some students from Canterbury College. I wanted this image to be a little more poignant and took an abstract view of the collection tin with the soldiers combats and boots in the background, depth of field of F4.0. I also bumped in to a large 6 foot subway roll on my way back to the car who was full of enthusiasm, worthy of a photo and a mention on the blog! Just have to work out what images to take tomorrow now, the project is working out to be a good challenge and bringing along other opportunities along the way.
