UNIVERSITY OF KENT PHOTOGRAPHY

The brief at the event was to cover the networking prior to the talks, people mingling, talking, laughing and enjoying the event. Peter Cook who runs the Academy of Rock teamed up with professional musician John Howitt who has performed with such stars as Anastasia, Celine Dion and Shirley Bassey. The event was a departure from the usual talks as it involved the audience and was based around music, I think John and Peter even managed to sell some of their books and CD's. I stuck with two lenses for the evening, 85mm and 135mm due to their speed and covered a mix of flash and natural light when I could get away with it. Flash settings in manual mode, 1/60 second at F2.0 and ISO 800, this gives a really nice balance of natural and artifical light. The event finished just after 8pm and I enjoyed a chat with John about his music tastes and tales from the last thirty years.
