KENT FIRE AND RESCUE AWARDS PHOTOGRAPHY 2011
21/09/2011
This was the fourth year that I had covered this event and knowing the venue always makes life easier, with the sun starting to break through at the start of the ceremony this made life easier to use natural window light for the award photos, just needed to use a little fill in flash for the larger group photos. Their were a number of awards for staff and members of the public who had shown great bravery during the course of the year, with the ceremony’s last award going to Graham Gash for his forty years service at Kent Fire and Rescue it was a day of pride and emotion for the families and friends of the recipients.
The ceremony’s closing address was by Deputy Lieutenant Lord Condon, who summed up what the event meant to the Queen on whose behalf he was representing to hand the awards out. All that was left for me to cover afterwards were some group photos which were to go out to the local press and also to be used on the KFRS website. I also managed to get a spot on Meridian TV as well!
