CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY LECTURE PHOTOGRAPHY KENT
13/09/2011
Since 1962 the University has grown into a five campus University, with 20,000 students, hundreds of courses, and a strong reputation across Kent and the UK. Their were five individual speeches and the audience had a host of local dignitaries in attendance, I sat in the middle seats of the lecture theatre and had a view straight on to the lecturn, with the 50mm and 135mm lenses I had a variety of scope for the photographs. With the 50mm 1.2 the latest addition to the kit it was at home with the low lighting in the auditorium, it gave a nice wide view of the stage with the 135mm covering some tighter crops of the speakers, shutter speeds were 1/100th of a second which was just enough to freeze the speakers and give a sharp exposure, aoertures were between 1.6-2.0 dependent on the lens. The evening finished with some networking in the reception area with the serving of drinks and canapes, a few informal photos and the evening was over for me. Looking forward to seeing what next year brings at the University with the 50th year celebrations.
