MCCH CHARITY DISCOVERY DAY
06/09/2011
The plan had been for the sporting activities to take place outside, unfortunately the weather was blowing gale force winds and the rain was not going to let up, so all of the stalls and events took place in the large marquees at the Detling showground. As the brief was to cover mainly documentary photography of the event I mainly used the 24-70mm 2.8 lens, the light inside the marquee was a mix of window light and tungsten lighting, as usual just to lift the artificial light I over exposed between 1/3-2/3rds to give a more neutral feel to the light in camera. With a hype of activity going on I was kept busy for the four hours and with the event ending with the annual awards which recognised staff, volunteers and the team awards for the sporting events it was a fun packed day.
I can't think of too many places where you can see Elvis, lizards, Miss Ballooniverse, cockroach racing and a host of sporting events. The images from today will be used for the MCCH website, press releases and their own newsletter and marketing materials.
