DFDS FERRIES PHOTOGRAPHY DUNKIRK, FRANCE
15/06/2011
We had eleven models for the duration of the day, Keith, Jen and Adrian from the agency plus my self and Clare covering the photography and the composition of the photography. With an 8am crossing over to Dunkirk we were not due to be back until just after 3pm so plenty of time, we hoped to cover all of the areas that we needed to cover on the brief. The ferry was quite busy but with enough models we were able to use some as passengers in the background and with Clare's help create some nicely composed and balanced images, the reflector and off camera flashes were used for a variety of the pictures, and with a mix of flat light and string sunshine on the way back home the off camera speed lights worked a treat for the car and caravan shots in Dunkirk.
We had time on the way back to have a meal in the Bistro restaurant and to view the images that we had so far, last remaining photos were on the top deck by the funnel, with some strong sunshine seeping through the murky sky it was another occasion for the speed lights, just one this time which Clare was moving around camera left and right to light the couples to create a balanced and well lit set of images. A busy day but with a good selection of models to use it worked really well and we had covered the shoot list as well. A selection of images will appear on this page in due course.
