Employability awards ceremony at the Gulbenkian Theatre
After the guests had booked in at registration canapes and champagne awaited, a good chance to catch some informal images and guests having a good time. I had done a couple of test shots in the auditorium for the award photos which was with the sponsor and student, opted to go for manual with flash at 1/60 second @ F4, ISO 640 just to bring in a little more ambient light in to the images, plus the sponsors logos needed to be shown in the background.
The awards were given out by each sponsor, these ranged from Chaucer Consulting, a multi global company to the Guardian newspaper. The event finished with one large group shot, similar settings just with the ISO pushed up to 800 and the flash over exposed by 2/3rds due to the distance and large amount of people that I had to cover, you forget sometimes just how powerful the speed lights are from such a portable unit. I finished the event off with some more candid images of the sponsors and students chatting away.
