ONE TO ONE PHOTOGRAPHY TRAINING
08/04/2011
As Sarah was going to be taking portraits, candids and group photos indoors I brought in model Elika so that we could use different scenarios to use the flash and the Canon 7D to its full potential, rather then just going in to auto mode and hoping that the camera would come out with the right results. The trick to getting the best out of any external flash gun is to use the camera in manual mode, and with using the flash to bounce off the ceiling we were getting much more natural results then Sarah had been getting before where the flash was harsh and producing dominant shadows against the background. We finished off the training session by covering some off camera flash outside, as well as shooting against the sun where the backlight was being produced naturally and with some fill in flash from the front was lighting the models face.
