BROOKLANDS TOYOTA MR2 CAR PHOTOGRAPHY
03/02/2011
I was not too sure how the car would go down by the staff and visitors as it hardly subtle with it's large roof vents and almost football sized exhaust pipes. I think to both our surprise it was an instant hit with one lady in her 60's falling in love with the colour! I had been granted access to the whole venue and with the car phptography courses coming up here it was another opportunity to use the various backdrops and with the bright red of the car it really stood out especially with Concorde in the background. It was a glorious day with nice low sunshine and crisp blue skies. The majority of the photographs were taken using two 580 speed light flash guns, both at 45 degree angles on the ground for the majority of images, the Concorde photo just had one flash to the right a the sun was the main source of light coming in from the top left. Manual settings for all photos with ISO 400 1/80 second and apertures ranging from F8-F16 depending on how moody I wanted the images to look.
After the shoot had finished I then met up with a group of the Brooklands trust members about the future car photography courses which are now booked up until May, their are still a few places on the May 22nd course with some new dates to follow soon. Now off to a meeting with Sony UK about covering some photography courses for them...
