CHICHESTER VISIT

11/01/2011
Shopping in Chichester
Despite the weather forecast of torrential rain it was mainly dry driving down, M25 was clear and parked up within 200 yards of our lunchtime destination, Cafe Rouge, they have to be commended for charging £7.50 for a sandwich with cheese melted on top of it! Chichester is very similar to Canterbury, Cathedral, cobbled streets, draped in history and all contained in a small area. After Peter Dench's display of work yesterday evening I wanted to take a couple of images for stock which were a little less touristy, with ten minutes before I had my appointment I went up to the clock tower which sits in the centre of the town, cathedral was on the left and I took a wide photo which had the cathedral surrounded by trees and with an old lady in the foreground, on the way to get her weekly shopping. Second photo was a little different and with the camera placed on the ground it was very much a case of press and hope, the regular green buses were sweeping past in front of the clock tower and with a shopper coming in from the right of the frame it gave a busy look to the scene, worked for me and with a shutter speed of 1/30 second their was a dash of movement but still detail in the scene.

After a really successful meeting and some work later in the year it was back off to Canterbury, again clear motorway and a pleasant drive home.
