Both of these cars will be going to an auction in Europe early next year, RM Sotheby's are the leading car auction house in the World and had asked me to photograph the two Ferrari's urgently. The location I was at had a small space in which i could move around the cars and capture the various angles that RM need for the online and printed brochure. Each shot has to be lit well and also the interior images have to show engine bay, chassis numbers and any extras that the car might have which make it even more unique.

The 550 Maranello was finished in the typical Ferrari Rosso Red, although on this model it is actually a rarer colour. The car had Daytona seats which were carbon fibre housed in black leather with Bordeaux stripes, it was in superb condition and with just over 38,000 miles makes it a very desirable car. The next car was made famous in the 80's, along with the Lamborghini Contact they were the super cars of that decade. The Testarossa was famously featured in Miami Vice, although Crocket and Tubbs' was white. This car doesn't seem to age on the exterior, it is so wide at the back and the rear arch slats are a stand out feature.he Ferrari Testarossa is a 12-cylinder mid-engine sports car manufactured by Ferrari, which went into production in 1984 as the successor to the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer. The Pininfarina-designed car was originally produced from 1984 to 1991, with two model revisions following the ending of Testarossa production and the introduction of the 512 TR and F512 M which were produced from 1992 to 1996.

All of the cars were photographed with the 24-70mm 2.8 lens and a Profoto B1 flash, I would normally use a 70-200mm lens as well but had very limited space around me t manoeuvre, with the aid of the B1 flash I was able to control reflections and also pick out key details with the 500 watt lights flexibility.
