Yiannis received an email from British Triathlon, stating he had qualified for the Great Britain Aquathlon squad to race in France at the European Championships on June 24th. In 2015 he decided to compete in Aquathlon’s as swimming and running are his strongest disciplines. After coming off a successful winter’s training Yiannis was hoping to compete at a good level but making the GB squad was not something he thought would happen. It was only after his first couple of Aquathlon’s that he was informed he had a good chance, so In September he entered the London league Hackney Splash and Dash, which was only the 4th Aquathlon. Yiannis finished 2nd and took 2 minutes off his last race and therefore had the time and position for the GB squad. he has just won bronze medals in the 2016 England Triathlon National Aquathlon Championships and the ITU European Aquathlon Championships in his age group.

Yiannis will be competing in the World championships in Mexico in September, som with his full time job for the NHS, training and my schedule it has taken four months for us to get together and cover the next set of portraits. Whitstable Harbour on an early Summers evening was perfect for the shoot, permissions had been granted and I also borrowed the new Range Rover Evoque convertible to use as a prop for the photos, the car looked perfect in the scenic setting. Lighting was used against the sun, again the flexibility and power of the Profoto B1 powered over the bright sun with ease.

Hopefully with the amazing success of our athletes in Rio this Summer Yiannis will be able to continue the success in Mexico next month.
