On a cold and damp Spring day I met Steve and model Sophie at Brooklands museum, during the week it is queit and gave us an opportunity to cover some portfolio images for Sophie and also some new promotional material do the fashion photography courses that take place at this historic venue.

Sophie had a variety of clothing with her, we used the location of the banking which has some air raid shelters and urban locations tucked away behind the main straight. For the majority I used the Profoto B1, although it is. 500 watt flash, being battery based it is still relatively light and portable to use for fashion photography. After lunch we covered some interior photographs in the stratosphere chamber, there are pockets of natural light which we used with the aid of a tri fold lastolite reflector, the gold side works well to warm up skin tones and balance the shadows. I stuck to my favourite portrait lens, the 70-200mm, great for full length shots and tightly cropped portraits.

The next fashion photography course takes place at Brooklands museum on Sunday 24th April, there are still spaces available, cost £150 and lunch is included. More details can be found under the trading section of the website.
