As with most of the Kent University photography the brief was very precise in terms of composition of the subjects in the frame. The images had to be taken portrait orientated with a view to the designers able to crop in a square format, this was due to the text on the designs being placed at the bottom of the photo. As with all portraits for th University the subject was to be looking off camera, this worked well as I used an off camera flash to light the subjects. I would normally opt for a reflector but having a small flash unit gives more flexibility in lighting and overall depth of field.

Once the seven images have been selected they will be used as large format posters around the campus, these are to highlight the achievements of the staff at Kent University, the subjects ranged in subjects, these included carpentry, English, hospitality and administration.
