CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY STUDENT PORTRAITS IN KENT

The photography beef was to capture each of the students against the campus or location where the Universities were based. The first portrait session was with student Steve, this took place on the beach in Broadstairs, using the iconic beach huts as a colourful backdrop worked really well, having to take the photos between the showers was a challenge but the weather for once was on my side. Lighting was a mix of reflective light with the tri-grip Lastolite reflector and an SB 910 flash off camera. The Canterbury and Medway campus images were taken at each University, on some images the red hoodies were used as these were the outfits that the students used in the videos, the photos are the intro in to the video showreel. These portraits were lit just by the natural light and reflector, the best example is the second photo down of Holly as the diffused sun aided the image perfectly.

All of the portraits taken for Canterbury Christ Church University in kent were with the D810 and 70-200mm lens, great lens for people photography as you can crop in tightly and create the perfect depth of field.
