The Mini Clubman is a small premium 5 door estate (or six with the twin doors), it isn't a small car anymore and the rear seating space would put most family hatchbacks to shame. The car is as usual full of quality materials, the aviator style switches make the car feel a little bit individual and comfort wise it is excellent for a hatch. I drove the Cooper S diesel which had the excellent 8 speed auto gearbox, smooth changes with a selector to put it in to sports mode if you wish. As usual with Mini you can make the car as bespoke as you want, or as subtle if you just want to go for a more conventional styling. A familiar line-up is offered, consisting at launch of a Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S. The new Clubman range is priced from £19,995 for the entry-level Cooper Clubman, rising to £22,755 for the higher-performance Cooper S Clubman. Standard kit across the range includes climate control, cruise control, sat-nav, Bluetooth, USB connectivity, keyless start and air-con.

As ever with car photography photo shoots the location is key to the end result, a fellow photographer put me on to a new wedding venue situated just outside of Canterbury, Marleybrook House, the grounds are fitted with charm and vintage touches, plus the addition of a fairground and vintage caravans. This provided a great backdrop for the Mini, adding an element of fun to the final images. The day was overcast with the skies looking very dark and full of rain, fortunately the session stayed dry and with the Profoto B1 flash adding some dramatic lighting to the majority of the photos it added a darker element to the final photos.

Finally a little bit about the venue, Marleybrook House is an immaculately presented seventeenth century 'chocolate box' thatched farmhouse full of unique character, history and old world charm. Former home to the legendary international singer, actress and cabaret star Eartha Kitt, Marleybrook House is in a secluded location, offering total privacy and exclusivity, yet just seven miles from the city of Canterbury. The five acres of landscaped gardens, paddocks and woodland provide the perfect setting for a quintessential English Country Wedding.
