ST EDMUND'S SCHOOL STRICTLY COME DANCING

The Strictly Come Dancing event took place in the school hall and had all of the features of the long running BBC TV show, brass band, singers, a sell out audience and the judges who were marking the contestants out of ten. The crowd were entertained with a mixture of dancing from a variety of age groups that attend the school, Becky Roberts and Rob Gain were the overall winners which was decided by the audience at the end of the evening.

For the Strictly dancing event photography I used the Nikon D4S with the 70-200mm and 24-70mm lenses, with the lighting being a mixture of colours and levels the camera was set in manual mode, usually under exposing by up to two stops to compensate for the brightness on stage. With the dancers moving quickly I had to use shutter speeds of 1/500th plus to freeze some of the rapid change of movements, ISO was set between 2500-4000 as at times the backdrop was the black stage curtains.
