CAR RESTORATION AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY KENT

The photography today had a classic car connection as Jon Varley from Folkestone is an employee of Hitachi but in his spare time restores classic Volkswagens, his current project is on a VW camper van. There was no chance of taking any photos of the project away from Jon's garage as the vehicle is a bare frame, I was not sure what to expect of the vehicle so had packed the Profoto B1 flash, this gave me plenty of scope to work around Jon's workshop and to capture some wide and close up photographs. I used two cameras, one with the 16-35mm wide zoom to capture the whole of the vehicle in its confined space and the 50mm 1.2 prime lens for some close up and detail images.

The editorial portraits will be used by Hitachi for there internal magazine that goes out to thousands of employees across Europe, this keeps them in touch with the latest news and also on there colleagues and hobbies and interests outside of the companies day to day runnings.
