I hadn't been to the Festival of Speed for a number of years so it was good to attend as a spectator with some friends, courtesy of Audi UK. The event has a moving motor show on the Thursday with models from across the automotive industry on parade. The weekend then sees motor racing legends and current stars put a variety of cars and bikes through there paces up the legendary Goodwood hill climb, through rally stages where WRC rally star Kris Meeke was putting his Citroen DS3 through its paces. The show is vast and every manufacturer is in attendance out doing each other with some truly spectacular stands, Honda get my vote for best stand with the Matchbox style display stand with real cars in them, clever marketing.

I used the 70-200mm lens throughout the day, limited with some wide shots of the stands but my main intention was to get some close ups of the rally stages, a covering in clouds of dust courtesy of the DS3 of Kris Meeke was well worth it! Also captured Sir Jackie Stewart in full flow in a Mercedes during the hill climb earlier in the morning.

The next event on the Goodwood calendar is the Revival which is themed each year, a more laid back affair with some epic vintage racing and more celebrities in attendance, dates for this are 11-13th September.
