The Battle of Britain memorial was recently opened by HRH Queen Elizabeth and sits behind the iconic memorial of a lone airman looking over the clifftop, the £3.5 million building has been beautifully engineered to mimic a propeller of the Spitfire. The commercial photography today was for Stannah lifts and required interior and exterior photographs of the builidng, some showing the unit on the ground floor and first floor where the cafe sits with its impressive balcony view overlooking the memorial and English channel. The day was perfect with saturated blues in the sky providing a perfect backdrop for the exterior photographs. I used the 16-35mm lens for all of the photographs, interiors were taken on a tripod with longer exposures and hand held outside. The photographs will be used by Stannah for case studies, press releases and also for use on there website.

The impressive memorial is free to visit and can be accessed on foot all day, every day. Opening times for The Wing, which includes The Scramble Experience, The Geoffrey Page Centre, the shop, Cockpit cafe and toilets, are as follows:

1 March to 31 May, 10am – 5pm (last entry to the Experience/cafe purchase 4.30pm);1 June to 30 September, 10am – 6pm (last entry to the Experience/cafe purchase 5.30pm);1 October to 28 February, 10am – 4pm (last entry to the Experience/cafe purchase 3.30pm).
