POLITICAL PORTRAITS CANTERBURY KENT

The UK Independence Party was founded in 1993 by members of the Anti-Federalist League with the primary objective of securing the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union. The party is led by Nigel Farage, UKIP has two Members of Parliament, three representatives in the House of Lords and twenty-three Members of the European Parliament, making it the largest UK party in the European Parliament. In October 2014, UKIP reported a membership of over 40,000.

To date I have covered twenty portraits for the South East region, I covered all of the portraits at my offices in Canterbury, some inside the Innovation Centres foyer and reception area with the others being taken outside. The large building has plenty of glass and industrial style backdrops to create a variety of options for the party to use the images for. Only addition of lighting was the introduction of a lastolite reflector, with the sun hidden behind the building this just added a little fill in light. All portraits were taken with the ever dependable 70-200mm lens, mainly around 2.8-3.5 aperture settings. The portraits will be used in various marketing for UKIP, these will be in print and online.
